Weatherhead Collection

The Weatherhead Collection is the semi-annual alumni outreach publication of The Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University located in Cleveland, Ohio. Weatherhead is considered a top-tier business school, with its strongest programs concentrated in organizational behavior, nonprofit business, information systems, entrepreneurship, and executive education.

Concept and Content

The Collection typically includes articles regarding Weatherhead faculty, students and alumi research and practical applications of principles taught in Weatherhead's school curriculum initiatives 'Manage by Designing', 'Sustainable Enterprise' and 'Appreciative inquiry'. The Weatherhead Collection was founded in 2008 and is published online and in hard copy. Each issue of "The Weatherhead Collection" features a high-design aesthetic that revolves around a single visual-design principle or movement; apart from the general cover layout, each issue rethinks grid and layout as an illustration of the school's 'Manage by Designing' philosophy (ranked at one of the top 60 design-thinking school's in the world and most notably exemplified by the Frank Gehry designed Peter B. Lewis Building that houses the school) and features article content that draw analogies between the chosen principle and the business school's initiatives.

Accolades

"The Weatherhead Collection" and the larger concept embraced by the school that surrounds it drew praise and won several design awards for application of high design in a normally conservative academic arena. The book is written by various faculty, almuni and students and edited by Rebecca Murphy and Marla Zwinggi. Concept and design is performed by 'peeps creative.
