Weapons of SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs series

The SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs series, made by Zipper Interactive, has focused on an authentic arsenal of weapons used by the US Navy SEALs and foreign-made weapons in wide use by [...] organizations. The weapons are not only designed to look like the real life weapons, but their performance characteristics are also very similar, such as rafe of fire, accuracy, and reload time.

SOCOM 3

SEAL weapons

  • M14 - designed in the late 1950s and used heavily in the arly Vietnam years, the M14 is a powerful battle-rifle with heavy recoil.
  • M16A2 - in the later years of Vietnam, the M14 was gradually replaced by the lighter M16 in many of its roles.
  • M4A1 - a shorter and lighter version of the M16, the M4 is designed for close-quarters combat, and its light weight makes it a good weapon of choice for special operations.
  • M8 - the XM8 rifle project was intended to become The New standard infantry rifle of the United States army. While it was put on hold in mid-2005, it was still alive at the time of SOCOM 3's release on October 11, 2005. The program would be cancelled only 19 days after the game's release, meaning it would not become the M8 in production as the video-games designers had assumed.

  • IW-80 A2 - the game version of the SA80, it is the current primary infantry weapon of the British army.

M60E3 Classification: Machine gun Information: This lightweight version of the M60 is a general purpose machine gun with great range and a steady rate of fire. The US military is phasing it out, however, because of recurring technical problems. Attachments available: Bipod 2.

MK .48 Classification: Machine gun Information: Because it was developed for US Special Forces operations, the MK. 48 is lighter and delivers more firepower than the M60E3 or the ATK-74, but has a shorter effective range. AT-4 Classification: Explosives Information: At just under 15 pounds, this lightweight shoulder-fired, single- shot, recoilless rocket launcher delivers an 84mm High-Explosive Anti-Armor warhead capable of penetrating most armored vehicles.

HE Grenade Classification: Explosives Information: The destruction caused by this High Explosive grenade comes from the concessive force of the explosion, which damages objects and personnel within the blast radius.

M67 Grenade Classification: Explosives Information: This fragmentation grenade sends out a powerful blast of shrapnel upon detonation, making it an area-effect weapon with high lethality.

Flashbang Classification: Explosives Information: Also known as a stun grenade, this non-lethal device is designed to incapacitate its target through blinding light and loud noise.

Smoke Grenade Classification: Explosives Information: This grenade creates a large cloud of white smoke when activated, and can be used to signal other units or screen movement.

Claymore Classification: Explosives Information: A lethal anti-personnel weapon, the Claymore mine uses C4 to project a fan-shaped blast of 700 steel pellets in a 10 meter casually radius.

Mark 23 Classification: Handgun Information: Developed by request of US Special Operations Command, the Mark 23 is more powerful than most pistols available, but also heavier. Attachments available: Suppressor, Pistol laser.

HK5 Classification: Sub-machine gun Information: Used by military and police forces in over 50 countries, the HK5 is unparalleled in both single-shot accuracy and modularity, which makes it ideal for close quarters combat and counter-[...] operations. Desert Eagle .50 Classification: Handgun Information: This. 50 caliber gas-operated sidearm is one of the most powerful and heaviest handguns ever made. Attachments available: Pistol laser.

F57 Classification: Handgun Information: The powerful F57 can penetrate body armor without sacrificing accuracy, and its large magazine makes up for a slow rate of fire. Attachments available: Suppressor, Pistol laser.

F90 Classification: Sub-machine gun Information: The power of the F90 submachine gun is eclipsed only by that of the HK7, and it boasts the largest magazine capacity, meaning less frequent reloading. Attachments available: Suppressor 1.

RA-14 Classification: Assault rifle Information: Developed especially for Spetsnaz, the RA-14 accepts a wide range of attachments and is the only rifle to share ammunition with the AK-47. AK-47 Classification: Assault rifle Information: The most profolic assault rifle of the 20th century, the sturdy AK-47 stands out for its reliability in adverse conditions, but heavy recoil and a slow fire rate make it less than ideal weapon. 552 Classification: Assault rifle Information: Although not as light-weight and modular as the HK36, the 552 belongs to the same class of compact assault rifles and is capable of high rates of fire. RPG-7 Classification: Explosives Information: Slightly heavier than the At-4, this shoulder-fired, single-shot, recoilless rocket launcher delivers an 85mm shaped charge warhead capable of penetrating all known armor.
