Waseem Mirza
Waseem Mirza (b. 1979 in Peterborough) is a presenter and reporter for BBC television and radio.
Broadcasting career

He is an award winning TV presenter and reporter. He has worked on a range of programmes from regional TV news with BBC Look East, to the BBC's flagship international technology news feature show Click. In 2008, he was named TV Hotshot by Broadcast, as part of their influential annual list of Britain's top TV talent under 29. In 2006 he was nominated in two categories for the GG2 Asian Media Awards and in 2005 he won a special recogonition award from the Business Mentoring Programme in Bedfordshire.
Scoops include forcing a change in NHS Trust policy after an MRSA expose in Oxfordshire, and Mirza was the first tv journalist on the scene when devastating floods hit a village near Milton Keynes. On the lighter side, he has joined a Midlands teenager setting a new world record in windsurfing across the English Channel, and filing the report for BBC Newsround.
Waseem can be seen and heard exclusively on the BBC, reporting for BBC1 viewers across the East of England including three of the Home Counties. He also regularly fronts the prime-time 8pm news bulletin on BBC1. Waseem is an experienced multimedia performer - often filing reports and presenting the news on TV, radio and online. He is also something of a thespian, having landed a role as a double for the daytime BBC drama series "Doctors", during his undergraduate years.
