Warhound is an upcoming game due to be released in the first quarter of 2008. As of now, the game is due to be released only on Windows and the Xbox 360. Developed by Techland, whose previous titles include Call of Juarez. Publisher is still to be announced.

Overview

In Warhound, the player assumes the role of a freelance mercenary, whose job is to intervene in some of the most brutal and precipitous armed conflicts around the world. The player is presented with a selection of contracts from a world map. These contractors may include presidents, businessmen and ordinary people asking for help. Locations include the Amazonian jungles, African savannas, Pacific islands, Europe, Middle and Far East. The game will also allow players to have the choice of freedom over their missions. They will be able to choose their weapons and upgrade their skills accordingly. Money will also be a greatly influenced factor in this game.

Development

The game is sent to be released on PC and XBOX 360. The developers have stated that they do not plan releases for the PS3 or the Wii. The PC version is set to take advantage of The New DirectX 10 and Pixel Shader 4 effects, much like popular first person shooter, CRYSIS.
The game will also feature a variety of vehicles, including APCs and tanks which the player will be able to drive around in and many weapons from which the they will have a choice. The final list of weapons is still being updated, however are guaranteed to have all the usual pistols, SMGs, sniper rifles and rocket launchers. There will not be a great deal of urban areas in the game, mainly exotic locations all around the globe.
Warhound will also offer up to 32 players battle in multiplayer mode.
