Wang Changrong

Wang Changrong (; born December 1962) is a Chinese politician who is currently vice chairman and deputy secretary of the party leadership group of the Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. He previously served as secretary of the political and legal affairs commission of the Chinese Communist Party Zhejiang Provincial Committee, secretary of the CCP Taizhou Municipal Committee, and executive vice president of the Zhejiang Provincial Party School. He is a member of the 15th CCP Zhejiang Provincial Committee.

Biography

Wang was born in December 1962 in Songyang County, Zhejiang. He began his career in August 1982 and joined the Chinese Communist Party in August 1988. He received postgraduate education at the Zhejiang Provincial Party School.

Wang began his career as a student at the Jinhua Health School and subsequently worked at the Songyang County Health and Epidemic Prevention Station, where he served as a staff member and deputy head of the laboratory department. He later studied philosophy in a postgraduate program at the Zhejiang Provincial Party School. After completing his studies, he worked for the Lishui Prefectural Committee's Lecturer Group and subsequently held positions in the theoretical affairs section of the Publicity Department of the Lishui Prefectural Committee.

Wang later served as a member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the Lishui Regional Health Bureau, Deputy Secretary of the Yunhe County Party Committee and Secretary of its Political and Legal Affairs Commission, and Deputy Secretary-General and Director of the General Office of the Lishui Municipal Committee. He subsequently became Secretary-General of the Lishui Municipal Committee and a member of its Standing Committee.

In April 2009, Wang was appointed a member of the Standing Committee of the Chinese Communist Party Wenzhou Municipal Committee, head of its Organization Department, and president of the Wenzhou Municipal Party School. In January 2012, he became deputy secretary of the Wenzhou Municipal Committee, secretary of its Political and Legal Affairs Commission, and Secretary of the Municipal Committee of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.

In March 2013, Wang was appointed executive vice president of the Zhejiang Provincial Party School at the department-director level and deputy president of the Zhejiang Administration Institute. In January 2016, he became secretary of the CCP Taizhou Municipal Committee.

In November 2017, Wang was appointed a member of the Standing Committee of the CCP Zhejiang Provincial Committee while retaining his position as Taizhou Party secretary. In December 2017, he was appointed Secretary of the Political and Legal Affairs Commission of the Zhejiang Provincial Committee.

In January 2022, Wang was appointed vice chairman of the Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), while continuing to serve as Secretary of the provincial Political and Legal Affairs Commission. He left the Standing Committee of the CCP Zhejiang Provincial Committee in June 2022. In January 2023, he was re-elected vice chairman of the 13th Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the CPPCC and subsequently became Deputy Secretary of its Party Leadership Group. He remains in this position.

Wang has served as a member of the 15th CCP Zhejiang Provincial Committee, a delegate to the 19th National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party, a deputy to the 13th Zhejiang Provincial People's Congress, and a member of the 12th and 13th Zhejiang Provincial Committees of the CPPCC. He has also served as Honorary Chairman of the Eighth Zhejiang Provincial Federation of Disabled Persons.
