Waldemar Marszałek
Waldemar Marszałek (born 13 April 1942 in Warsaw, Poland) - former Polish motorboat racer and, since 1998, city councilor in Warsaw.
Career
Marszałek started racing for Polonia Warsaw in 1959 and in 2005 became the club's chairman. He is a six time World Champion and a six time European Champion in motorboat sports. During his career, Marszałek was involved in several heavy accidents, in 1982, he was clinically dead after a dangerous accident during a race in Berlin on Havelsee.

After retirement
In 1998 Marszałek was elected a city councilor representing Democratic Left Alliance. He was subsequently elected in 2002, 2006, 2010 and 2014 representing Democratic Left Alliance – Labour Union, Left and Democrats and Democratic Left Alliance once again.
Personal life
He had two sons, Bartłomiej and Bernard, also motorboat racers. Bernard died in 2007 at the age of 30.
