Waking Hour (band)
Waking Hour is a progressive metal band from Seattle, WA that has been around since 1993. Because of name disputes, the band has changed its name twice: originally they were named Beggar’s Opera, then Eightfold Path and finally (and successfully) Waking Hour. Waking Hour has received international attention and radio play including being published in Metal Hammer Magazine’s February 2007 issue in the “Thinking Man’s Metal Page”. Waking Hour has also been reviewed in The Metal Observer webzine April 18, 2007. Waking Hour has been featured on the online radio shows Audio Aggression and Stack and Di In Overdrive on www.odu.fm: especially the latter, which Waking Hour has had many interviews and frequent song play. Waking Hour's songs have also been played on: WKTF The Edge Worldwide, Dementiaradio.com, and MetalStorm radio.
Waking Hour has had the honored privilege to perform with such acts as Into Eternity, Stratovarius, Sonata Arctica, Cellador, Kamelot, Epica, Visions of Atlantis, and Ceremonial Castings. On April 21, 2007 Waking Hour released their full length album after several demo releases over the years. A new demo of material from the second album will hopefully be available in Winter 2008. Waking Hour's main focus is getting out, playing live and meeting new fans; but above all else, having fun.
