Von Grüning is a Toronto based fashion design house, founded in 2011 by Diana L. Von Grüning at age 16. The house focuses on artistic embroidery as a staple.

Design

Von Grüning uses a staple of artistic Embroidery inspired mainly by Rococo/Victorian art and religious controversy. High-waisted embroidered pants and over-the-top blazers were distinguishing trademarks of Von Grüning during its first year of public acknowledgment, 2012-2013.

The VG monogram was designed in the summer of 2013 and the Monogram Tank-Top became a smash-hit soon after. The monogram quickly became commonly recognized and later became Von Grüning's logo. The V overlapping the G in a sleek font was simple and recognizable.

Diana - Early life

Diana Von Grüning grew up in Scarborough. As a child, she engaged in many sports such as baseball, soccer and American football but was always artistically creative and spent most of her free time drawing, painting or building things.

In 2011, at age 14, she began to use an old sewing machine, experimenting with different materials and ideas. Diana claims that the idea of Von Grüning occurred to her at a birthday party for a friend when people began to ask her where she bought her dress, she had made it because she hadn't owned a dress at the time. the dress was raved about. Before that, sewing and designing clothes was just something done on the side that only family and close friends knew about.

Diana continued to enhance her skills in fashion design and construction until at the age of 17 Diana launched her website, which attracted other artists and buyers from a much larger circle outside of her group of friends and family. On September 13, 2013 Diana and her brand/clothing label were featured live on the national The Marilyn Denis Show with a small fashion show where 3 models showed off a few pieces from Diana's latest couture line. this was a huge step forward for the label.
