Volpin Props

Volpin Props is a one-man prop replica company run by Harrison Krix and based in Atlanta, Georgia. Originally, it started when Krix created props for Halloween in 2007. His earliest posts, both on his blog page and website, were of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess props. The well known Hylian Shield and Master Sword that appear in all Zelda games were some of the first projects mentioned, and also included Midna's Helm.

Krix takes commission orders and also does freelance projects. On the blog mentioned above he goes into detail AbOUT these DIY (do-it-yourself) projects, through a step-by-step explanation which includes pictures of the prop during construction and the final product.

He has since entered in contests, such as ones at Dragon Con, where he has won multiple times. Also, he sometimes hosts panels on his works and how to create similar replicas. Examples of this are his participation at the three-day game festival PAX East in his panel "From Pixels to Props: Creating Realistic Game Replicas" and Momo Con.

Krix's works are mainly focused props from video games, such as the Legend of Zelda, Half-Life, and BioShock franchises. However, he does branch out into other areas, such as anime, as exhibited by his work on armor for the protagonist, Clare, of the series Claymore.
