Major Vivian Sheffield Beckerly is an attorney and veteran from Mobile, Alabama and former candidate for Congress in Alabama's first district. She was also one of the Fighting Dems.

When asked why she left the Republican Party for the Democratic side, Beckerly said, “When I realized that the voices in the party were actually speaking against the likes of my brother who was a labor union member, I simply could not remain in their ranks. I take very seriously the idea of being my brother’s keeper, and I could no longer support a party that would deprive him of a livable wage, retirement, and healthcare benefits.
Beckerle ran for U.S. House of Representatives in 2006 but was defeated by Republican incumbent Jo Bonner.
