Visual Fusion Tile Server

Visual Fusion Tile Server, developed by IDV Solutions, offers enhanced functionality and capabilities for web-based mapping within a Microsoft technology stack. Visual Fusion Tile Server takes advantage of advances in map tiling and caching, Providing a way for organizations to serve up imagery and other Web Map Services (WMS) with greater speed and performance. It serves up map tiles compatible with Microsoft Virtual Earth 2D and 3D map controls, and also caches the tiles, enabling map access while offline or in a disconnected environment. In addition, using the Virtual Earth 3D control, Visual Fusion Tile Server tiles can be draped in 3D to produce enhanced visuals of enterprise data.
==Features== 1. Leverages tiling and caching to improve WMS performance.
2. Projects WMS imagery to align with a Virtual Earth basemap at all zoom levels.
3. Caching of imagery for protable storage.
4. Enables closed network or disconnection solutions in instances where an internet connection is not possible.
==Funcitionality== - Internet access can be leverage, but is not required
- Pre-caching imagery tiles enables map access while offline or in a disconnected environment
- Configurable to use WMS imagery as the basemap or as an overlay when combined with Visual Fusion Client
- Add, edit, delete WMS connections through a configuration file
- Supports connection to any Platte Carre or Mercator WMS
- Makes WMS requests using WGS:84 coordinates
- Outputs in Mercator projection to synchronize with Virtual Earth
- Caches tiles for rapid, concurrent loading
- Configurable cache settings: cache size, storage location, and expiration
- Batch pre-caching capability supports specifying a bounding box to pre-download tiles from a WMS
