Vinay Mandke
Vinay Mandke (born 16 December 1952) is a Veteran Indian playback singer, Music Composer, Live Performer who primarily sings for Bollywood films. He has also sung in Bengali, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi and various Indian languages.
Early & Personal Life
Vinay Mandke was born on 16th December 1952 to Vasant Vishwanath Mandke and Malti Vasant Mandke in a Hindu family in the Mumbai, Maharashtra. In early childhood he got 1st prize in singing competition specially held for police staff children. Vinay Mandke married to Rekha and he has son Aditya Mandke.
Career
Vinay Mandke started his career at a felicitation function of Shivaji Park Gymkhana for The INDIAN Cricket Team at Vanita Samaj on the eve of their departure to the West Indies in 1971. This very Team came back as the historic first Indian Team with a Series Win In the Windies. His first mentor Milan Orchestra, conducted by Anil Samant, RamakantKulkarni, Kishore Rathodwas the real platform to showcase his talent to the masses which was then followed by Miss Sushma Shrestha (aka Poornima) and her composer father Late.Bholaji Shreshtha. And then soon he had a blooming career as a lead solo singer. It was a stepping stone for him in Live Concerts to be with Sunehri Yaadein (Pramila Datar). He did over 500 shows all over India within 2 years. Soon after he performed Live Concerts with the legendary Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle. He also sang with Usha Mangeshkar, Alka Yagnik, Mukeshji, Geeta Dutt, Kavita Krishnamurthy, Nutanji, Manna Dey, Hemant Kumar, Mahendra Kapoor, Talat Mahmood, Suresh Wadkar, Sudesh Bhosle, Shailendra Singh, Nitin Mukesh, Sadhana Sargam, Anuradha Paudwal, Uttara Kelkar and Sonu Nigam amongst the other contemporaries. He also accompanied Rani Varma in Saptak which was a MusicAL hit in 80’s. During this period of his growing career he got the opportunity to perform live programs for Music Directors such as C.Ramchandra, O.P. Nayyar, Ravi, Shankar-Jaikishan, Kalyanji Anandji, BappiLahiri, Ravindra Jain, UshaKhanna in India as well as Globally. He has also been a part of innumerable tours, going into the remotest corners of Maharashtra State, to entertain people with Marathi Folk Music. Flourishing as his Career was, his foray into Advertising and Films were no less spectacular. More than 4000 Jingles in all Indian Languages used in the Radio & Television Mediums since 1981. He has worked with music directors like P. P.Vaidyanathan, Vanraj Bhatia, Louis Banks, Vedpal, Leslie Lewis to name a few. Some of the main highlights in his career as a singer, ring in our ears even today, namely, Hamara Bajaj, Kal Bhi Ajbhi (VIP luggage), " MERA BHARAT MAHAAN (full campaign)", " Lipton Tea", "Tata Steel", Ok Sabun, "Lifebuoy/Vigil/Nirma/Wheel" - Soaps & detergents, "Prestige Cooker", MDH Masale Campaigns, "Vicco Vajradanti (full campaign)", & many others. As a playback singer he has more than 100 feature films including regional films to his credit. The recordist & the owner of S. L. Studio Mr. Shashank Lalchand was one of the key persons who introduced him to the film industry.
He dominated the Marathi Film Industry with some of the prominent music directors: Ashok Patki, Anil Mohile, Ravindra Jain, Arun Paudwal, Ram Kadam, Bal Palsule, Sharang Dev, Rishiraj, D. S. Ruben, Suresh Kumar, Nandu Honap, Achyut Thakur to the extent that he has sung 90% of The Late Shri. Laxmikant Berde’s songs including superhits like Hamaal De Dhamal, Balache Baap Brahmachari, Prem Karuya Khullam Khulla, Gadbad Ghotala, Aflatoon, Shame To Shame, Ek Gaadi Baaki Anadi, Dhadakebaaj, Eka Peksha Ek, Patli Re Patli, Godi Gulabi, Chambu Gabale, Tu Sukh Karata, Bajrangachi Kamaal, Gup Chup, Rangat Sangat, Chal Re Lakshya Mumbaila, Mamla Porincha, Dhamal Bablya Ganpyachi & many many others.
HINDI FILMS: He has sung for the maestros Laxmikant Pyarelal in Hum, Badi Behen, Mahaanta contemprarory films like Bombay Boys, Hu TuTu & many others. He has also sung a few numbers for Nadeem Shravan.
GUJRATHI FILMS: Avinash Vyas & Gaurang Vyas were the main music composers with whom he sang in his Gujrathi film career.
MUSIC DIRECTION: He has also given music under the name Rajendra - Vinay to Bin Kamacha Navra, Gauracha Navra and a superhit Dada Kondke film Muka Ghya Muka.
TELEVISION SERIALS: He has sung for Zabaan SambhalKe, Professor Pyarelal, Safarnama, Tauba Meri Tauba, Manoranjan & many others in Hindi Serials. Ase Pahune Yeti, Shubh Mangal Savdhan, Dokyala Dulki, Sarja Raja are some of the Marathi serials that he has rendered his voice too.
Awards
He is a proud achiever of "THE LIFE TIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD" from Advertising Club of India. He has also received various Rapa Awards for Advertising. He was honored by the then President of India Venkat Raman at B. S. F. Function in New Delhi and was also felicitated in 1996 by Dr. B. D. Jatti (Former Vice president Of India) on Silver Jubilee function of Bharat Cultural Integration Committee for Universal Integration. He has been nominated for best Playback Singer at the Government of Maharashtra Awards thrice.
