Vijendra S. Vij

Vijendra S Vij is a self-taught artist in the realm of modern abstract art in The INDIAN tradition. Born in 1975 at Fatehpur U.P., he is a self-taught artist, working independently. Master in Graphic Design & Multimedia, he has held two solo shows at Bihar & Allahabad in 2000 and 2010. He has held several group shows of his work held in Allahabad, Lucknow, Delhi, Jaipur, Punjab, Karnataka, and Assam and participated a the 2nd All India Digital Art Exhibition by AIFACS New Delhi, 9th IIAPC International Exhibition of Art in JAPAN in 2003, 23rd Annual Exhibition by State LKA, Lucknow-2002, and Triveni Mahotsav by State LKA Lucknow 1998. Vijendra has participated several Art Camps & Workshops held in Allahabad, Delhi, Lucknow, Gwalior & Mysore. Recently been awarded at 2nd All India Digital Art Exhibition 2012, AIFACS (All India Fine Art & Craft Society)

Attended 2nd Regional Hindi Conference MUSCAT, OMAN-March 2009. Demonstrate Digital Art & Use of Multimedia in Hindi Learning Organized by Govt of India. Worked on several Short Films & Documentaries.

AbOUT his works

Vijendra S Vij likes to work on specific themes and create a series of works exploring his subject. Themes unlocking his creative visual expression include women, musicians, human relationships, life-scapes, exploitation, solitude, relaxation. His art depicts the inner upheavals experienced as direct stimuli responses to unique surroundings, depicted in his paintings, which helps him bring about the human expressions which inspired him.

His mix of colours is abstract and he brings about the levelness and the environment governing his characters at any given moment by mixing them with intimate thoughts and then depict them on the canvas. He tries to express these through his own objective, or if you will empirical, creative visual imagery. His style of paintings is based on experimental studies in different mediums. The range and flexibility of working with different mediums reflects his perception and understanding of managing human value to achieve individuality.
