Vertoda

Vertoda is a commercial open source software framework. Vertoda is middleware that captures data from networked devices such as smart meters, RFID readers, GPS readers and wireless sensor networks and converts this data into meaningful information that can be used by other software and systems. Vertoda can also secure data from these devices using encryption and digital signatures.

There are three versions of Vertoda. Vertoda Professional EDition enables users and organisations to capture data from diverse networked devices. An Enterprise Edition and Professional Modules are also available for Business Intelligence, Data Security and Remote Environment Management.

Vertoda can be used as a standalone Information Systems or as an Application Programming Interface (API) for the development of other software and systems. Vertoda is organised into components so that users can avail of a subset of the system if they wish.

Vertoda also periodically publishes white papers for free download, has a regular blog and updates on activities relating to technology and Green IT on twitter. White Papers that are available for download include the use of Wireless Sensor Networks in Agriculture and Food Processing sectors, Identity Based Encryption and Bluetooth. The Vertoda Blog discusses issues relating to Smart Meters, Smart Cities & Infrastructure, Wireless Sensor Networks, Wind Farm Management, Software Development tips and tutorials, Cryptography, Cloud Computing and Green IT among others. Vertoda's Twitter Feed also provides regular updates on these issues.
