Veronica Kvassetskaia Tsyglan
Veronica Kvassetskaia Tsyglan (born 28 December 1966, Moscow, Russia) is an internationally renowned master portrait artist and a leading figure in the contemporary revival of Classical Tradition of fine art portraiture in Canada. She is the Founder, Chair and Driving force of the Portrait Society of Canada and First Place Winner and People's Choice Awards winner of the 2002 International Portrait Competition in Toronto, held at Art Gallery of Ontario. She has been featured on Bravo Television's popular series Star Portraits.
She dedicated her formative years to mastering the Art of Drawing and painting. She copied extensively in Museums across Europe as well as studied portraiture in the Surikov Academy of Fine Arts. Along the way she earned a BA in history from the Moscow State University.
Her work has been exhibited in Europe and North America and included in several museums, prestigious private and corporate collections. Recent notable commissions includes Mr. Mike Maedy (CEO Canon Canada), Mrs. Sonja Bata (Bata Shoe Museum) Measha Brueggergosman,Murray Pollitt, Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Simon Whitfield (Olympic Champion triathlon), Dr Draw (virtuoso violinist), Arkady Spivak-TIFT, Tom Diamond, Sasha Mehmedovic (2008 Beijing Olympian), Tania Stepanova (Prima Ballerina from Bolshoi Theatre), The Countess Von Wedel of Hanover, Bishop Michael of Canada, Corporate Portrait of Steam Whistle Brewing founders and many others. Represented by the UK Portrait Agency” Commission a portrait, Bohemiarte Gallery, Montreal and Portrait Artists’s Society of Canada.
