Varpal is a student social networking website, known as University Pals Social Network, launched in Nigeria with the aim of connecting students. It is owned and operated by Varpal Global Limited.
Description
Varpal users can feature their products on the homepage of the website, AbOUT 50 percent of Ebonyi state University Nigeria students are already on Varpal. There are members from other countries such as India, China, UK. According to The Guardian (Nigeria) Online Article, The social network offers all members free marketplace Membership, where members can buy and sell their products free of charge.
In September 2012, Varpal partnered with Paldima Resources Limited, a Nigeria Tile importing Company based in Warri, Delta state.
Varpal is currently partnering with Glazwthrill Nigeria limited and Ebonyi state University.
The directors of Varpal are Christopher Columbus and Nnamdi Ogodo K. The company has offices in Delta State and Ebonyi State.
History
Varpal was founded in April 7, 2012 in Ebonyi State by Nigerian student Christopher Columbus, and by August 29, 2012 had recorded over 17,000 members. On Oct 2nd, 2012 Varpal was registered as a global tech company with the name Varpal Global Limited.
The Guardian (Nigeria) newspaper featured Varpal as the first ever Nigeria social networking website to gather 15,000 members in four months.
Varpal was created by Christopher Columbus,a Student of Ebonyi state University, Nigeria. Who is currently an Undergraduate Student studying Biochemistry and the newly Ceo of Varpal Global Limited.
