Vanessa Fox (born 1972) is the founder of Google Webmaster Central. She left Google in June 2007, briefly worked at Zillow and now works for Ignition Partners as an 'entrepreneur in residence'. She is a prominent technology blogger, and public speaker. At conferences and on the Google Webmaster Central blog, Fox offers advice to webmasters to help get their sites listed in Google, and to solve problems they may have with the way Google indexes their pages.

Fox's personal blog covers a wide range of topics, focusing mainly on technology, her mobile LifeStyle, and Search Engine Optimization. In contrast to the Google Webmaster Central blog, where she wrote in an official capacity, in her personal blog she talks AbOUT basic SEO, with the blog itself as an example. In addition, a common topic on the blog is the tenuous relationship she has with her BlackBerry.

At one point, Fox received her 30,000th unanswered email, and declared email bankruptcy.

A Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan, she sometimes explains SEO concepts using Buffy analogies, in her blog and elsewhere.

Fox, originally from Southern California, worked at a Seattle web startup and then AOL before joining Google in 2005. As of 2007, she was based at Google's Kirkland, Washington office.
