Valley Ridge Farm
Valley Ridge Farm is an equestrian facility in Masontown, West Virginia, owned by Kevin and Michele Koury and operated by Michele Koury. Founded in 1980 in Masontown, it started as a private boarding facility with public lessons, and riding for the handicapped. After moving the facility to the Cheat Lake area in the early 1990s, a larger community was notified of the opportunity of fun and education in equitation.
On the last day of 1999, the facility was moved back to its original location. There have been many additions and upgrades to Valley Ridge Farm. Over the next few years the business grew. The facility now has an occupancy of thirty-two horses and over 100 riders.
Michele Koury is the coach of the WVU equestrian team. The Team recently won the regional championship and competed in the Zone finals for a trip to the National Finals. The National Finals are held in Massachusetts this year. One rider from the WVU team will attend that competition.
