Vacaville United Elite Soccer Club is a semi-professional futbol club located in Vacaville, California just north from San Francisco. VUESC was formed in 2009, by locals Brandon Muth and Aaron Dickey who both have a very strong passion for the game and believe in giving an opportunity to young and old players to take their soccer skills to the next level. The ultimate goal of the Vacaville United Elite is to open the door for many youth players to attend college via scholarships as well as offer a gateway to the MLS and USL-Pro Leagues. The current roster for the team sits at 22 players and is continuously adding, dropping and transferring players to different clubs nationwide, worldwide as well as to Universities. Summer of 2013, the VUE placed 3rd in California for the U-23 College Summer League where they were barely defeated by the Chivas USA (MLS) team in the semi-final round, with a close score of 3-1. Last season, the VUE finished in 4th place in the Adult Premier League (APL) which qualified them for the Open Cup which will start the first weekend of April in 2014. If the club places in the top 2 of the Northern California Open Cup qualifying round, they will then have to compete against the 2 top teams from Southern California; the winner of this round will earn a ticket to the Lamar Hunt Tournament, the largest most prestigious tournament in the entire United States. The Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup is a knockout tournament in American soccer. It is the oldest ongoing national soccer competition in the U.S. and the world's third-longest-running open soccer tournament. It is open to all United States Soccer Federation affiliated teams, from highly competitive adult club teams to the professional clubs of Major League Soccer ("The US Open Cup: A quiet century of soccer history". October 1, 2013). The goal for the Vacaville United Elite players is to qualify for the Lamar Hunt tournament this Spring! VUE or nothing!!
