After little success the Verghjesles switched from the costly Texas INSTRUMENTS cooling path to the cheaper Chinese manufactured tri band system early in December. Prices, inittially around $750, fell as Chinese parts were used. Critics stated after the switch in stratergy that the quality wasn't affected. Now the amps are around $100, although it is believed that it is still the best 5.1 amp, new technologies have superseded it and lowered the price.

Reception

What Hi-Fi gave it a 4.5 star rating, although its ratings increased to the full 5 after the price fell. Which? magazine also acclaimed it. The reviews mainly focused on the fact that the amp is perfect for 5.1s or setups with subwoofers. Technology

The V-Jazz utilises the new 32-bit ESS Sabre ADC 970012 D-A conversion stage. For op-amps it uses 5 Texas Instruments Type R liquid cooled quad path transistor chips, however these were later abandoned. This amplifier also feature a Sylvania 6932 tube stage for improved warmth and texture, and Dolby Digital DSP for improved spatial imaging with 5 x 45 watt speaker outputs, and 1 powered subwoofer output. This system was unveiled at CanJam 2010 in Provo, Utah. The enitire unit has been EM shielded with ionized fibreglass for use around monitors and no interference with cell phones. It also features in-line power conditioning with 4 Monster Power cleanpower stage 7 AC power regulators.

Bankruptcy

Only 500 models were produced before the mother company, V-Jay, filed for type-14 bankruptcy in 2008, effectively ending the company and stopping all production of the V-Jazz. References to the V-Jazz are limited online as of this. However, high street knowledge of the unit still exists, and many still sell on online markets.
