Uschi Schreiber
German Born Uschi Schreiber replaced Steve Buckland as the Director-General of Queensland Health on 27 July 2005 and was appointed for a period of up to fifteen months, along with two new Deputy Directors-Generals. Ms Schreiber was formerly Deputy Director-General in the Department Of Premier and Cabinet. After more then two years at Queensland Health, Mrs Schreiber is now one of the longest standing Health Director Generals in Australia.[November 2007]
The Premier of Queensland made the direct appointment of Schreiber to lead the development and implementation of the Government’s response to the recommendations from the Morris / Davies Inquiries and the Forster Inquiry.
On 23 November 2007, Schreiber made the announcement she would step down as Director-General of Queensland Health to accept an appointment as Partner of Ernst And Young in Sydney.
