Upsargahara Stotra
Upsargahara Stotra is a stotra or Jain chant created by Acharya Bhadrabahu. It is also known as Uvassagaharam Stotra derived from the first word in the stotra. Upsargahar Stotra is recited in the praise of 23rd Jain tirthankar Parshwanath bhagwan.
History
Acharya Bhadrabahu and his brother Varahmihir predicted different horoscopes for a King's son, and Acharya Bhadrabahu's prediction turned out correct. Varahmihir had to go through humiliation, and to take revenge he became a satan after his death. He started torturing Bhadrabahu's followers, and then Bhadrabahu wrote this stotra as a prayer to tirthankar parshwanath, and called upon Dharanendra. Dharanendra was a divine follower of Parshva. Warahmihir was defeated by him. So this prayer famous among jains, and they recite the stotra with lot of faith and respect.
The Stotra
उवसग्गहरं पासं,
पासं वंदामि कम्मघणमुक्कं ।
विसहर - विसनिन्नासं
मंगल - कल्याण आवासं । । १ । ।
विसहर - फुल्लिंग मंतं
कंठे धारेइ जो सया मणुओ ।
तस्स गह - रोग मारी
दुट्ठ - जरा जंति उवसामं । । २ । ।
चिट्ठउ दूरे मंतो
तुज्झ पणामो वि बहुफलो होइ ।
नर - तिरिएसु वि जीवा,
पावंति न दुःख - दोहग्गं । । ३ । ।
तुह सम्मत्त लद्धे
चिंतामणि कप्पपायवब्भहिए ।
पावंति अविग्घेणं,
जीवा अयरामरं ठाणं । । ४ । ।
इअ संथुओ महायस!
भत्तिब्भर - निब्भरेण हियएण ।
ता देव! दिज्ज बोहिं
भवे भवे पास जिणचंद । । ५ । ।
