Unnamed Treasure Shooter
Treasure is currently developing a brand new game for the Xbox 360, after it pledges its support for the console at the Xbox Summit 2005 in Japan. On September 2005, Treasure announced that its new top-secret Xbox 360 title will be an original shooter. This brought great news to arcade shooter fans alike, who have been clamoring for a new game in the shooting genre since the successful Radiant Silvergun and Ikaruga. A recent interview at 1UP with Treasure's president, Masato Maegawa, has revealed that The New shooter will use 3D graphics but yet retains the 2D gameplay, with a top-down scrolling genre. The same team which worked on Ikaruga is currently working hard on this title.
Radiant Silvergun 2?
Rumors have started to Appear on forums that the new shooter will be a sequel of sorts to Radiant Silvergun, though it's not known whether that would mean a sequel or spiritual successor to the original Radiant Silvergun, just like Ikaruga. The source of this rumor came from a Japanese games release website called G-Rev, stating the above mentioned title. This messageboard has no connection to the developer G.rev who have collaborated with Treasure on Ikaruga and Gradius V, but this confusion led many sites to lend more credibility to this rumor than it deserved.
This rumour has been denied by Treasure president Masato Maegawa in an interview with 1UP, stating that it will not have any relation to Ikaruga or Radiant Silvergun despite the shooter's somewhat unclear ending, not even in the manner with which Ikaruga is connected to Radiant Silvergun, but may or may not have similar gameplay.
