University of Pennsylvania MFA Forum
The Penn Design MFA Forum'' (also known as theUniversity of Pennsylvania MFA Forum'') is an art blog that chronicles significant activities related to the arts at the university, the City of Philadelphia, New York and Mid-Atlantic region.
Content and Structure
The blog derives its structure from the Artforum, serving as a major source for news of Distinguished Artists lectures, symposia and exhibitions in Philadelphia. The blog works in conjunction with other Philadelphia arts institutions, including the Institute of Contemporary Art, Philadelphia and Philadelphia Museum of Art to publicize notable exhibitions in the city. The blog also publishes articles relating to the critical analyses of contemporary art. Content is contributed and moderated by bloggers affiliated with the university and artists involved in the artistic community in Philadelphia.
History
The Penn Design MFA Forum is the first electronic publication to begin to historize the artistic and cultural activities of one of the oldest academic institutions offering courses in fine arts. It is also the first university-supported electronic publication focusing on art and pedagogy.
