Website, MySpace, YouTube, and Facebook group formed to publish videos, writing, and media created by military members and their families/friends. The group's mission is to produce media from the point of view of soldiers and military family members by letting them use their own cameras to show the realities of their lives.
Started by former Army Cpl Brett Rodriguez (10th Mtn Div), and filmmaker Reid Carolin1, the site is loosely affiliated with the forthcoming Paramount Pictures movie, '''STOP-LOSS'''2, starring Ryan Phillippe3, Channing Tatum4, Abbie Cornish5, Joseph Gordon Levitt6, and Rob Brown7.
Brett and Reid worked on the development / production of Stop-Loss, and now work with soldiers and military families to create content for Unfiltered and Real. Brett is the younger brother of Kimberly Peirce8, the writer/director of Stop-Loss, and 1999's Oscar Winning film, BOYS DON'T CRY.
As of May 22nd, 2007, Unfiltered and Real's MySpace community had grown rapidly to over 3,300 friends - the vast majority from military communities around the world.
