Uncle Sam's New York
Uncle Sam’s New York is one of New York City’s walking tour, pub crawl and nightlife tour companies. Founded in 2009 by Samuel Cook, the company has aggressively expanded and is a well known destination for tourists worldwide. The Daily News hailed Uncle Sam’s New York as a walking tour company that has “something for everyone”.
Uncle Sam’s New York Tours is the flagship enterprise of Uncle Sam’s USA, which conducts historical walking tours, cultural pub crawls, and Night Club Tours in New York City. The company consists of a staff that conducts sales, marketing, and administration, and tours are administered by licensed New York City Tour guides, many of whom have extensive acting and theater backgrounds. The company started offering daily tours in 2009, maintains relationships with major tourism companies, including Expedia, Travelocity, Virgin Holiday’s, Gulliver’s Travel (GTA), the New York Pass, and Greyline and CitySights NY bus companies.
History
Uncle Sam’s New York was founded by Samuel P.N. Cook, a U.S. Army Captain and Iraq war veteran while he was attending New York University for his M.A. in World History. In its first year of operations, Uncle Sam’s New York developed a series of partnerships and relationships and became the first walking tour company in the New York Pass guidebook. It also forged a partnership with New York Water Taxi, CitySights NY and Gray Line Bus company, as well as NY SKYRIDE. As of March, 2010, Uncle Sam’s New York has become one of the largest walking tour companies in New York City. Samuel Cook continues to serves as Chairman and CEO, with a staff of 10 employees and a part time guide roster of over 15 guides that conduct over 40 public and private tours a week. Tours Uncle Sam’s New York conducts neighborhood tours of New York City’s largest destination neighborhoods for tourists, including a daily Broadway Theater District Walking Tour, a Greenwich Village Walking Tour themed along the life of Edgar Allan Poe, a twice daily financial district walking tour themed along the life of Alexander Hamilton, and a Heroes of the World Trade Center Walking tour that features stories of the heroism from 9/11/2001, and the events that followed its aftermath, including Rick Rescorla, Willie Rodriguez, and Pat Tillman. Uncle Sam’s New York also conducts nightly pub crawls in three different manhattan neighborhoods, the East Village, the West Village, and Hell’s Kitchen, and a Chelsea Nightclub Tour.
