Umang Foundation
Umang Foundation is a registered Public Charitable Trust in India, it consists of more than 450+ dynamic professionals spanning across various sectors which also includes doctors, elite senior citizens, students, house wives who are enthusiastic to work for uplifting the society. To achieve this goal Team Umang have organized many philanthropic events and activities including distribution of stationery kits, clothes to villagers, Blood Donation drives, celebration of festivals with people in old age home, celebration of special days with children and children suffering from cancer. Umang Foundation has a strong focus on providing education material to underprivileged children. Team Umang has provided educational material to these children starting from Kindergarten to the high school and have provided educational material to 9200+ less fortunate children since its inception. In year 2011, Team Umang has provided education material to 5500 children. Team Umang aims to increase this number to a whopping 10,000 children by April 2012.
Apart from education, a complete creative growth is facilitated by the foundation through clay modeling workshops, Warli painting, paper collage and paper-bag making workshops for orphans, magic shows and dance competitions.
Till date, Umang Foundation does not have any employees and working on the basis of Volunteers efforts.
History
It was started by three IT Professionals Ashish Goyal, Akshay Shah and Deena Sawlani, in July 2008 in Mumbai, who believe "there’s more to life" beyond office and home.
Mission, Vision and Objectives
Umang Foundation focuses on the upliftment of society in every possible way," it has evolved to prove time and again that it dares to make a difference to the society with its niche commitment, dedication and above all it keep faith in its team. It has quite a few varied activities under its umbrella for achieving its goal but its primary focus has never shifted from activities related to education.
Umang’s work areas
Umang Foundation is basically involved in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane. It also spread its wings to Northern part of Gujarat like Anklehwar, moreover its partially active in west Rajasthan also. As Umang Foundation has a strong focus on providing underprivileged children and providing the clothes to needed person so its growing in remote areas.
