The committee consists both of UK home students who have returned from their period spent abroad and students from other European countries who are completing / have completed their degree in the UK. UKESC works closely with the British Council, the National Agency for the Erasmus Programme in the UK. The committee’s main focus is to promote the Erasmus Scheme in the UK and give real-life experience to UK students, through talks at schools and universities and through speaking at meetings, seminars and conferences. The UKESC distributes promotional materials through the operation of its website, newsletters and other publications such as the ‘Society Handbook’ which was distributed to all UK universities.
