Twin Towers Sunrise
Twin Towers Sunrise is the name given to a famous photograph of the World Trade Center towers. The picture depicts the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center during sunrise in the summer of 2001 with the sun between them, seeming to form a perfect cross. Following the September 11 attacks that destroyed the World Trade Center several months later, the image became popular in memorials to the attacks.
Origin and authenticity
Following the photo's circulation after the attacks, there were numerous question as to whether or not the photograph was faked, and who the photographer was. Snopes and TruthOrFiction.com both credit the work to Sue Urban, a resident of New Jersey who took the photograph on July 28, 2001, while returning from a vacation to Bermuda.
