TrippNT

TrippNT is an American corporation headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri. As of 2009, it is the established leader in laboratory organizers, benchtop storage, and lab carts, offering more than 600 products used to organize and store laboratory supplies such as glassware, consumables, pipettes, tools, and equipment.

TrippNT has its own product line of laboratory organizers and is also a contract manufacturer producing a variety of fabricated items for both the US and international markets. Its mission statement under the current CEO, Susan Tripp is: “To offer the best laboratory organizers at the best possible prices.” The company was founded in 1993 by Michigan-born chemist Susan Tripp, who invented a bench top organizer for her microscopy supplies. While initially the company sold only a few laboratory organizers, TrippNT has experienced double digit growth almost every year since it creation in 1993. TrippNT is a certified woman-owned business, as well as a certified veteran-owned business.

History

TrippNT's roots can be found in the labs of Marion Merrell Dow in the early 1990's. Susan Tripp, a veteran chemist at Marion Merrell Dow, attempted to find new ways to organize her laboratory space, which was cluttered with hundreds of samples and reagents, along with numerous tools, slides, cameras, video cameras, and additional laboratory equipment. Unhappy with her space, Tripp asked her husband, Bob Tripp, to assist her in creating her own benchtop laboratory organizer. Within three days, Bob Tripp had finished construction on his the first laboratory organizer, which was unbeknown at the time to be TrippNT's very first laboratory organizer.

Starting with the initial investment of only $75,000, TrippNT was created in 1993 in the Lee's Summit, Missouri basement of Susan and Bob Tripp. For six years, the company was headquartered out of their home, which gradually expanded from the basement, to the living room, kitchen, dining room, guest bedrooms, and garage. TrippNT was initially operated as a distribution company, specializing in the distribution of laboratory equipment, alongside TrippNT's brand named laboratory organizers. However, due to the high volume of constant innovation of organization equipment, TrippNT began directing primary attention to its laboratory organization equipment. After several consultations, it was eventually decided that TrippNT would drop the distribution market and focus primarily on the manufacturing of the laboratory organizers.

Laboratory Organizers

TrippNT is the largest US producer of laboratory organizers made from a variety of plastics including polystyrene, polyethylene, acrylics, ABS and polyvinylchloride. It designs and manufactures laboratory bench top storage products including shelves, bins, workstations, dispensers, holders and most importantly laboratory carts.

Bins

TrippNT's Laboratory bins feature deep spaces to organize laboratory supplies. Laboratory bins come in multiple sizes, ranging from 12 inches to 24 inches. The laboratory bins also feature an adjustable bin feature, designed to accommodate supplies as quantities change.

Drawer Organizers

TrippNT Drawer Organizers are made of sturdy styrene, which is vacuum formed over a mold, giving it long lasting durability at an affordable cost. The Drawer Organizers can be utilized not only in normal sized drawers, but also with the TrippNT Seven-Tray Lab Cart. The Drawers come in multiple styles, including trays specifically designed for stoppers, clamps, pipets, and refrigerator vial storage.

Lab Carts

TrippNT Lab Carts are among the best selling products TrippNT has to offer. The Lab Carts are designed for different laboratory and hospital needs, such as pipet storage, suture storage, and MRI supply storage. TrippNT also offers general purpose Lab Carts, including the best selling Deluxe Lab Cart, the Space-Saving Lab Cart, and the Display Lab Cart.

'' 'Lab Island™ Cart Series

Making its first appearance in 2008, the Lab Island™ Lab Carts have transformed the capabilities of storage in laboratories. The Lab Islands are designed to safely stores materials with a roll top lid, which can be locked down using the lock and key provided on the Lab Island. The Lab Island Lab carts come in three sizes, the "Maui" (2 feet), the "Cayman" (4 feet), and the "Belize" (8 feet). The Lab Islands also have the option of bring ferrous or non-ferrous, allowing it to be compatible in MRI labs.

Cough and Sneeze Protection

During the Swine Flu outbreak of 2009, TrippNT introduced a new line of products called the Cough and Sneeze Protection™ series. The Cough and Sneeze organization supplies are designed for any facility where germ prevention is a necessity, such as hospitals and doctor's offices. TrippNT offers five organizational Cough and Sneeze Protection products, including the TrippNT Cough and Sneeze Protection Cart and the Cough and Sneeze Wall Mounting Unit.

Priced Right Series

TrippNT's newest line of products are the Priced Right™ series. The Price Right series features affordable organizational supplies for laboratories, hospitals, and doctors' offices.

Custom Manufacturing

Custom design and manufacturing makes up about 10% of TrippNT sales with many products designed for the health, medical, scientific and veterinarian industries. Capabilities include highly skilled engineers with design and blueprint reading experience, CNC machinery and a well-maintained 16,500 sq ft facility. TrippNT has a strong record of custom manufacturing, including work with the Mayo Clinic, National Institutes of Health, Shor-line, Labconco, and numerous state government agencies.

Contract Manufacturing

Contract manufacturing makes up about 5% of TrippNT sales, servicing a variety of industries from government agencies to aircraft corporations to The Mayo Clinic. TrippNT houses a variety of tools and machines, including industrial CNC routers and vacuum forming machines that are suitable for a wide range of product services.

Distributors

TrippNT's variety of lab organizers are widely accepted as industry standards for lab organization products. Therefore, TrippNT is highly sought after by large market laboratory distributors. Some of TrippNT's main distributors are Marketlab, Lab Safety Supply, Fisher Scientific, VWR, and Labconco.
