Triple 3x Coca Tea
Triple 3x Coca Tea is an iced tisane made from natural coca leaves, raw cane sugar, honey and lemon juice. The tea gets its name because it utilizes three grams of coca leaves per 8.5 ounce (250ml) cup instead of a one gram teabag, which is used as the recommended guideline for preparing a cup of coca tea by ENACO (Empresa Nacional de la Coca S.A) operated by the Peruvian government, which is the largest commercial processor of coca leaf food products in the world.
The beverage is prepared and sold only in Caracas, Venezuela where it is produced on an artisan level in a small restaurant in front of Venezuela's capitol and marketed in expositions, cultural events, on street corners and in public plazas. The tea was invented and is still made by American expatriate, David Wright who formed a cooperative 'CocaVen' to promote his tea and other products made from the coca leaf in an effort to educate the public AbOUT the coca leaf as a superfood and traditional herbal medicine.
