Career
Junior rugby
Mein started his rugby at the age of 12 playing for Linwood Rugby Football Union in the U13 section for a season then moving to various other clubs before ending up at Suburbs rugby club. He spent 5 years playing for suburbs (receiving 3 player of the day awards and 1 player of the month award)including 2 years in the U18 section where he scored his first try for the club in a famous 120-0 win against an unbeaten St Andrews side on top form.
At the end of the 2006 season Mein decided to follow the trend and move from a struggling Suburbs to rival club Sydenham where he went on to play his third season in the U18 section. During his first year playing for Sydenham he impressed the coaching staff with his knowledge and commitment towards the game and also scored his second career try which was also playing against St Andrews which ended up being the diffenence in a 14-12 win to sydenham.
At the start of 2007 Mein made the important decision leave New Zealand rugby and to take his talents across the ditch to Beaudesert rugby club in Brisbane, Australia. This was hard on the big hooker/prop but he soon got used to the different style of the game and quickly regained his form from his 2006 season with Sydenham
Senior rugby
After moving to Brisbane in early 2007 Mein started a new chapter in his rugby career. He signed up with the Beaudesert senior rugby team who competed in the division 2 section. After playing 5 games for the club and scoring a try in only his second game his season was cut short with injury. In a training run Mein fractured his wrist which kept him out for the rest of the 2007 season.
Personal life
Not only is Trevor Mein ( Sanjesh Chand) a talented rugby union player but he is a good touch rugby player.
