Tip The Van

Tip the Van is a female-fronted ska-punk band, formed in 2002 in Marlborough, Connecticut.

Career

Tip the Van was originally formed in 2002 by sisters Nicole and Simone Oliva while in high school. Since then the band's lineup has cycled through more than 30 different members, primarily due to shifting priorities and varying levels of parental support. However, TTV's membership has stabilized considerably in recent years. The majority of the band's music is written by Nicole Oliva and Brian Dunnigan.

Before releasing their first major studio album Something Wicked on Asbestos Records, Tip The Van self-produced two studio albums and three live recordings. The band has also played in the Vans Warped Tour two times so far: in 2005 and 2006. The Hartford Advocate has also named Tip The Van "Best Punk/Reggae/Ska Band" of their annual "Grand Band Slam" readers poll three years in a row since 2005. TTV has also shared the stage with other bands that they consider major influences, including RX Bandits, Reel Big Fish, Catch 22, The Toasters, and others. In January 2009, Tip The Van began A Tour with Reel Big Fish and Streetlight Manifesto and released a new EP titled Passion, Love & Pride.
