Timeline of 13th century conversion of Hindu clans to Islam

Kaimkhani- or Qaimkhani is a community of Muslims living in Shekhawati region of Rajasthan. They had embraced Islam a few hundred years ago, and are still considered close to Rajputs. They are the descendants of Khan-e Jehan Nawab Kaim Khan Shaheed who was the son of Raja Motay Rai Chauhan, the ruler of Dorayra or Dadrewa (presently situated in the Churu district of Rajasthan). The first progenitor of Kaimkhanis was Karamchand born in the family of Moterao of Chauhan clan, the ruler of Dadrewa. Firuz Shah Tughluq converted him to Islam and named him Kaimkhan. Thus his descendants were called Kaimkhani. He embraced Islam along with his brothers, Zainuddin and Jabaruddin, in the times of Sultan Feroz Shah (born in 1310 AD & crowned in 1351 AD). Descendents of Zainuddin and Jabaruddin are also called 'Kaimkhanis'.kayamkhanis also have sub-castes like khanzadas, khanis, vaans.khanzadas are considered as prominent among all.

Meo - Like most Indian Muslims, the Meos were originally Hindu; when and how their conversion to Islam came AbOUT is unclear. It seems probable they were converted in stages: first by Salar Masud in the eleventh century, by Balban in the thirteenth century, and then during Aurangzeb's rule in the seventeenth century.
