Tim Hague (broadcaster)

Tim Hague (born 10 August 1985) is a British news and sports television presenter. He was selected for the BBC Journalism Trainee Scheme in 2010 and now anchors live bulletins on BBC One, BBC Two, BBC News, BBC World and BBC Sport. He broadcasts bulletins, features and voice pieces for Radio One, Radio Four and Radio 5 live. He also produces feature length programming, including the BBC One and BBC News Year In Sport for 2014 and 2015. These 30 minute programmes were written, produced, edited, VOICED and presented by Hague. In March 2017, school students from across Britain were chosen to broadcast on live TV as part of the BBC's School Report News Day. They were assigned to present the sports bulletins along with Tim Hague.

Early life and education

Tim Hague was born in Frimley, Surrey, on 10 August 1985. He earned BA Hons, History, First Class Honours, 2004 - 2007 from Royal Holloway, University of London and the International Certificate in Business Practice, Business Administration and Management, Merit, 2008 - 2009 from University of Cambridge. After spending a year working in finance with Perella Weinberg Partners in New York City he returned to the UK and was selected from over 2500 applicants for the BBC's Journalism Trainee Scheme.

Sir Rod Stewart viral video

Hague was presenting on the Victoria Derbyshire (TV programme) on BBC Two, on April 25, 2017, when British rock singer and songwriter Sir Rod Stewart later released a video clip AbOUT his son Liam Stewart scoring his first international goal for Great Britain. Sir Rod Stewart posted the video on Facebook and Instagram which showed him watching Tim Hague present the story featuring his son. The video was used internationally by TV networks and re-published online by news organisations around the world. It has since been watched millions of times.
