Tigerair Australia destinations
Tigerair Australia (known as Tiger Airways Australia until July 2013) is a low-cost airline based in Melbourne, Australia. As of March 2014, it operates to 12 destinations in six states and territories across Australia, with 2 more destinations, Darwin and Whitsunday Coast, to be available from April, 2014. Tigerair Australia has operated flights to 17 destinations in Australia, but the majority of these destinations were discontinued after the grounding of the airline's entire fleet by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority in July 2011.
The airline has its main base at Melbourne Airport, while a second base was opened in Adelaide Airport in March 2009. Tiger Airways' operations in Adelaide were shut down in August 2011 due to commercial reasons. Sydney Airport was opened as a smaller "virtual base" on 29 October 2009.
Destinations
The list shows destinations that have been served by Tigerair Australia as part of its scheduled services from 2007 to the present. It excludes airports that are only operated by Singapore-based sister airline Tigerair. The list includes the city; the state or territory in which it is located; the codes of the International Air Transport Association (IATA airport code) and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO airport code); and the airport's name, with the airline's bases marked.
When services resumed on 12 August 2011, the airline operated only on the Melbourne - Sydney route. Currently the airline operates to ten destinations from Melbourne.
