Thor Motor Coach
Thor Motor Coach, an American manufacturer of recreation vehicles located in Elkhart, IN, produces nearly one out of every four motorhomes sold each year and is the top retail selling motorhome manufacturer in North America. They make Class A and Class C motorhomes and are a subsidiary of Thor Industries, Inc.
History
Thor Motor Coach was formed in September 2010 as a strategic merger of Thor Industries, Inc. subsidiaries Damon Motor Coach and Four Winds International.
Thor Motor Coach gets its name from the names of two of Thor Industries, Inc. founders - Wade F. B. Thompson and Peter Busch Orthwein. The company used the first two letters of the last names of each - "TH" from Thompson and the "OR" from Orthwein. Thor Motor Coach produces several brands of Class A diesel, Class A gas, and Class C Motorhomes that are distributed primarily in the United States and Canada. However, the company does also distribute to Italy, United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, India, and Japan.
