Thomas Dacre (1410–1448)
Sir Thomas Dacre (1410 – 15 January 1448) was born in Brampton, Cumberland, England.
Dacre's father was Thomas Dacre, 6th Baron Dacre and his mother was Philippa de Neville. He married Elizabeth Bowett, daughter of Sir William Bowett of Horsford and Amy de Ufford. Elizabeth was born 1405 in Horsfordburgh, St. Margaret's, Norfolk, England.

From 1349 through 1350, the Melling area was disturbed by a private war between Sir Thomas Dacre and Sir Robert de Nevill. Dacre went to Arkholme with several of his companions and assaulted Nevill's servant. Sir Robert assembled around thirty armed men at Hornby Castle, and for six months led them to do harm to Dacre.
