Third Age Total War

Third Age: Total War is a total conversion modification for the PC-game Medieval II: Total War by Sega that brings the world of Middle-earth. It changes the map of Europe, North Africa and the Middle East to an extensive historically accurate map of Middle-earth as it was in the Third Age, while retaining the turn-based strategic gameplay and real-time battles of the original. It has 4,319,782 downloads according to moddb.com

Gameplay

Like in the original game the modification allows the player to assume control of a faction and build a civilization, both economically and militarily in order to conquer other factions. Gameplay consists of controlling the faction's military, economic, and social systems in the large campaign map. During the player's turn, armies, fleets, and agents can be moved on the map. When an army engages another army, the player can choose to fight the battle personally in the battle mode, or automatically calculate the outcome.

Campaign

The Campaign can be either Fellowship mode or Classic Total War Campaign. The Fellowship mode leads a band similar to the movies across middile earth. The Classic mode is Faction versus Faction as is normal with Total War Games but in the realm of Middle Earth.

Factions

Gondor, Rohan, High and Silvan Elves, Dwarves, Eriador, Dale, The Dominion of Isengard, Mordor, The Easterlings of Rhun, Harad, The Orcs of Gundabad and Orcs of the Misty Mountains and Arnor
