ThinkMarkets is a trading company providing retail and institutional clients foreign exchange, Contract for difference (CFDs) and financial spread betting (UK only) in major currencies precious metals and oil. The company’s main operations are in London, United Kingdom with other offices in Dubai, Shenzhen, Shanghai, China, and Melbourne, Australia, where it is headquartered.
History
Created in 2001 TF Global Markets, originally trading as ThinkForex and rebranded to ThinkMarkets in 2016, was founded by brothers Nauman Anees and Faizan Anees in 2010 in Auckland, New Zealand.
In 2012 it relocated to Melbourne, Australia to improve client security under ASIC regulation. and launched its first proprietary trading technology TFXVPS and in 2013 launched its CFDs proposition.
In 2015 the company opened its London office and base of operations and also opened its Dubai office.
ThinkForex rebranded to ThinkMarkets in July 2016 and launched its own proprietary trading platform Trade Interceptor. In winter 2016 ThinkMarkets also launched German and Arabic websites.
ThinkMarkets offers its users a number of educative programmes and in the UK is a sponsor of Coventry University's Financial Trading Society, and has an educational partnership with the London School of Economics’ Trading Society in 2016.
Operations
Dealing platforms
ThinkMarkets offers two trading platforms MT4 Super a custom version of MetaTrader 4 and Trade Interceptor its own proprietary trading platform.
Regulation
ThinkMarkets is fully authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in the UK and the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) in Australia.
