TheThread, LLC
The Thread™ The Thread™ was a B2B technology software company started in April 2000, with principal offices at 1450 Broadway, 17th Floor, New York, NY 10018, USA.
It developed hosted and marketed a collaborative design and supply chain management software to be used initially in the fashion, apparel and related industries. Its software allowed, for example, brand name designers to interact with raw materials suppliers and factories across the world and have finished goods tagged and shipped just in time to retailers. It enabled a higher degree of tracking and efficiency in a highly complex and diffuse supply chain.
The Thread™ was founded and got initial requirements from Haim and Morris Dabah Jr, and their related existing fashion/apparel companies including Regatta USA, Gloria Vanderbilt, Kids International, all of whom were early users/evaluators of The Thread's software solution.
The Thread's supply chain management software was one of the very first large software projects to be implemented using XML/Web Services. It used Bowstreet as its foundation platform.
Principal executives of The Thread were:
- William Anderson CEO, previously senior executive with Carrefour.
- Gene Ostrovsky – COO, formerly SVP Strategic Planning Global Operations at Warnaco.
- Leo Massarani – CTO, formerly Chief Technical Strategist at IBM.
- Jack Listanowsky- VP Sourcing, formerly with The Limited as Chief Sourcing Officer.
- Vladimir Usatin - Director of Technology.
In early 2002 The Thread ceased to operate as an independent company and its assets and operations were subsumed back to the founder entities.
