Therus Kolff
Therus Kolff, MD, MPH is a physician and leader in the medical locum tenens industry.
Biography
Dr. Kolff received a Bachelors of Science degree in medical biology and an MD from the University of Utah (1976), and an MPH in health policy and management from Harvard University (1979). After medical school he joined Health Systems Research Institute, Inc., a non-profit out of the University of Utah organized to develop innovative solutions to rural health care issues. He was part of a team that managed 22 clinics and five hospitals in nine western states and Yellowstone National Park Medical Services.
In 1979, Dr. Kolff established CompHealth1, the first locum tenens company in the nation, which he sold in 1991. In 1994 he stepped down as CEO. He has since been involved in four other successful ventures as either CEO or as a founding board member.
Many may not be aware that at one time Dr. Kolff was a registered preacher and has officiated at several weddings. At least one marriage performed by Dr. Kolff has survived over 20 years and is still goping strong!
