The Woman Who Ate Scotland

The Woman Who Ate Scotland is a Scottish television programme, broadcast on STV. The show has spectacular scenery and culinary highlights from across the country, and is presented by intrepid cycling gourmet Nell Nelson.

In The New series, Nell's culinary adventures take her to eight new areas of Scotland, where she experiences a feast of mouth-watering food and beautiful surroundings. Throughout eight new episodes she visits Glasgow, Loch Tay, Blair Atholl, Dundee and Shetland, to name just a few of her destinations.

The series is also interactive, meaning that anyone watching STV via Digital Satellite can press the red button and engage in a range of exclusive features including Nell's favourite recipes from her travels, tips on cycle routes, and competitions.

Edinburgh-born Nell is a huge cycling and food enthusiast. During a 10-year period living in Hong Kong, she worked as a food columnist for South China Morning Post Magazine and editor for Asian Home Gourmet, and wrote three cook books. After returning to Scotland in 2004, Nell was delighted to discover that her native country has a rich food heritage and plenty of people who share her passion for local produce.
