The Ultimate Challenge
The Ultimate Challenge was a stunt television series aired in the United States by Fox Broadcasting Company as a part of its 1991 fall lineup.
The Ultimate Challenge feature stunts performed by both stunt professionals and amateur daredevils. The program showed not only the stunts but also explanations AbOUT how they were prepared, with emphasis taken on measures taken to lessen the risks of injury to the participants (which were often nonetheless still quite high). Features included "Greg Stump's World of Extremes", a look at extreme sports such as BMX, stunt skiing, bungee jumping and the like, which are now fairly standard television fare but which were still largely on the fringes of the mainstream public's consciousness at the time when this program was aired.
Serving as hosts were former NFL player Mike Adamle, Heather Thomas, Larry Hoff, and John Long. Only eight episodes of The Ultimate Challenge were aired prior to its cancellation in December 1991.
