The Spinoff Report

The Spinoff Report Ltd., is an independent global research company that tracks and analyzes publicly announced corporate divestitures, or spinoffs and special situations, and highlights the spinoff ‘event’ as an investment opportunity. Founded in 2005 and headquartered in London and New York, the company provides fundamental-value oriented analysis reports, calendar of spinoffs, empirical studies and spinoff announcement alerts for investment banks, hedge funds, mutual funds and money managers around the world. Leading accountancy and advisory firm Deloitte has recently completed a ten year analysis of every corporate Spinoff since 1998. It highlights that, much is written about demergers, but little has been done to quantify them. Examples of significant Spinoffs during 2008 and 2009 are: Cadbury's, Suez (company), Fresnillo, Securitas, Time Warner, Walter Industries, Telkom, Vodacom, Cardinal Health, Julius Baer and Liberty Media.
