The Prowler 2
The Prowler 2 is an all-purpose conditioning sled developed by Performance Strength Designs, Inc.
History
The Prowler was developed by Performance Strength Designs, Inc. in conjunction with Joey Batson, head strength coach at Clemson University. It was originally developed to condition linemen, who need to stay low to the ground; its unique triangular design forces users to keep their hips lower while pushing so as not to drive the single front ski into the ground.
The first Prowler was sold in April of 2005. Since then it has been widely used in a number of conditioning programs, including high schools, colleges, Major League Baseball teams, and NFL teams. The Prowler 2 was also used by popular trainer Jillian Michaels on seasons 9, 10, and 11 of NBC’s television hit The Biggest Loser.
The Prowler 2 has been reviewed and praised in a number of national magazines, including Men’s Health and Muscle & Fitness for its unique and effective conditioning experience.
Uses
The Prowler 2 is unique in conditioning sleds because it can be pushed, pulled, or dragged, offering several workout possibilities. Weight plates can be added to provide additional resistance. It is used for interval training, speed training, Strongman training, cardiovascular workouts, and total body conditioning.
