The Painted Verse
The Painted Verse is a book of poetry and painting. The book comprises 50 compositions. Each composition is a poetry accompanied by a painting that complements it. The book has been published by Bibliophile South Asia.
The book was launched at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, on May 18, 2013.
The author and the artist
The book has been authored by poet and writer Preeta Chandran, and the artwork is by painter and artist Pankaj Kumar Saxena.
AbOUT the author
Preeta Chandran was born in India in 1977. Currently based out of New Delhi, she is a Chemistry Graduate and a Management Post Graduate, and works with a reputed global organization. She is one of the poets whose work has been featured in 'The Dance of the Peacock', an anthology of English poetry from India published by the Hidden Brook Press, Canada. Her poetry has also received honorable mention from popular literary journal Muse India.
About the artist
Born in Bareilly, India in 1970, Pankaj Kumar Saxena is a modern Realist painter and illustrator. His work in the field of Painting has been part of several exhibitions. Recently, his work featured in the International exhibition, Emotions of the World, held at Emmaus, Milan (Italy). Pankaj is an IIM Calcutta alumni, and currently lives in New Delhi, India.
Foreword and reviews
The Foreword has been written by Soli Sorabjee, former Attorney General of India. The book has received reviews from noted Indian as well as International writers like Keki N. Daruwalla, Patricia Prime, and artists like Nupur Kundu, and Anne Cameron Cutri.
