The Joshua Tree (band)
The Joshua Tree is a Los Angeles, California-based U2 tribute band. The band strives to re-create the experience of seeing U2 live, including not only the sound, but also the wardrobe, attitude, stage show, and the character role-playing of Bono, The Edge, Adam, and Larry. The Joshua Tree name is taken from U2's fifth album.
The Joshua Tree has been performing together for AbOUT four years. Their repertoire includes over 70 U2 songs. They have been featured on Lisa Foxx's show on Los Angeles radio station Star 98.7, as well as on San Diego-based 91X. They have performed at numerous Hard Rock Cafes, the House of Blues in Anaheim, and the Los Angeles County Fair, among other venues. The band is well-respected in tribute band circles and among U2 fans for their commitment to authenticity.
Gear
Jason uses an RCI Vistalite Internation replica of Bono's UK Tripod microphone stand. Chedge (as he is affectionately known by fans and friends) has about 15 guitars, including an alpine white Gibson Les Paul, a Gibson Explorer, Fender Stratocaster, and a Fernandes Native Pro - all models which The Edge has been known to play. Scott uses several vintage or custom Fender Jazz and Precision Basses as well as Lakland Darryl Jones signature basses. A pair of Ashdown EVO/ABM amplification rigs (one used by Adam Clayton at The New Orleans Superdome in 2006) drives the band's low end. Drummer Mike is endorsed by Yamaha and Paiste and plays the same drums and cymbals as Larry Mullen, Jr. Jason also wears Bulgari sunglasses similar to Bono's, the model depending on the time period the band is portraying.
