The Hussy’s are a 6-piece pop band from Glasgow, Scotland
The Hussy’s are fronted by 21-year-old vocalist Fili with James McColl {Previously of The Supernaturals} (Guitar), Steph McGourty (Bass), Ronnie Smith (Guitar), Gordo McNeil (drums) and Greg Barnes (keyboards).
The Hussy’s released their debut EP ‘Tiger’, in September 2005, and their second EP in March 2006; both on their own label Fat Cheerleader records. These EPs picked up airplay on various radio stations, including Janice Long at BBC Radio 2, Steve Lamacq at BBC Radio 1 / 6 Music and Jim Gellatly & Dominik Diamond at XFM. The band also have numerous TV appearances behind them, from the BBC We Expected Video to Channel M
From Autumn 2006 to Spring 2007 the band toured extensively throughout the UK. The Hussy's have received many reviews from tabloids such as The Evening Times 1 & Daily Record (Scotland)2 3, praising them for their uniqueness and catchy tunes.
In May 2007 the band released “We Expected” as a single in the UK. It gained excellent reviews and reached number 22 in the Radio 1 indie chart. Other songs include one based on the website Friends Reunited and the movie Napoleon Dynamite.
Musically The Hussy’s have elements of Madness, Cardigans, Kirsty McColl and Motown/Ska.
