The Honest Kitchen
The Honest Kitchen is a line of holistic dehydrated, raw, human-grade pet food. Founded by Lucy and Charlie Postins in 2002, The Honest Kitchen provides all-natural pet products that promote nutritional awareness, environmental responsibility, and a sustainable community. Their food is produced in a human-grade facility that makes cereals for human consumption - the Federal FDA provided a formal statement of no objection to The Honest Kitchen, permitting the company to use the term “Human Grade” on its product labels.
The Honest Kitchen has six dog food recipes, one cat recipe, three supplements and ice pups (a popsicle-like dog treat). The company has also launch a tea, which it plans to expand in 2010.
In September 2009, The Honest Kitchen switched to sustainably farmed, free-range chicken.
